Northrop Grumman Technical Services Inc. is expanding its
existing operation at Chennault International Airport in Lake
Charles, La. The defense industry leader will construct a new
20,000-square-foot, air conditioned assembly building for its Lake
Charles Maintenance and Modification Center.
Louisiana Economic Development Corporation awarded Northrop
Grumman with funding through the Economic Development Award
Program. The performance-based assistance funds improvements to
publicly owned infrastructure to assist business expansions that
promote economic development. The expansion will create 80 new
positions and help retain 217 existing jobs.
"Bottom line: great news for Lake Charles, great news for
Louisiana," said Gov. Bobby Jindal.
Northrop Grumman provides innovative systems, products,
solutions and services to the U.S. Department of Defense and other
governmental agencies focused on aerospace, information,
electronics and shipbuilding.
